Atlas maps and describes 2,563 carbon projects across Africa from public registries.
What each project shows
Status, type, credits issued and retired, the developer, and how accurately the project can be placed on the map. Locations are labelled honestly, from a location stated by the registry to a named place checked against the country border.
Organisations and communities
Atlas lists 572 organisations behind these projects. For 1,330 projects, the project description says which communities are involved; where it does not say, Atlas says so.
